Why do we charge a £30 fee if there is no wax?

Unlike a high street retail shop where you walk in, a mobile clinical service involves dedicating an experienced clinician and vehicle to travel to your private London residence or care home.

Dedicated Clinician Time: Our HCPC registered audiologist reserves up to 45 minutes of clinical time exclusively for your home appointment.
Professional Medical Assessment: Even if no wax is present, we perform a thorough otoscopic diagnostic check to determine why your ears feel blocked or muffled.
Formal GP Guidance: We provide written medical notes recommending next steps (such as treating Eustachian tube dysfunction or arranging a diagnostic audiogram).

What happens if the audiologist examines my ear and finds no wax?

If our clinical examination shows that your ear canals are clear of wax, we do not charge the full £70 procedure fee. Instead, you only pay a reduced £30 clinical triage fee. During this appointment, our practitioner will explain what else might be causing your symptoms (such as Eustachian tube congestion or age-related hearing changes) and provide a formal written report or referral recommendation for your GP.

Why is there a £30 triage fee when no wax is found?

A home visit involves our registered clinical audiologist travelling to your London residence with hospital-grade diagnostic equipment, conducting a comprehensive digital otoscopic examination, and providing professional medical advice. The £30 fee covers the clinician's travel and diagnostic assessment time while ensuring you are not unfairly billed for a removal procedure that wasn't medically necessary.

Our practitioners carry secure, contactless card payment terminals that accept all major debit and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay. We also accept bank transfers or cash if preferred.
